Hamilton, NY--The Marist College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (30-28, 30-22, 30-12) decision to host Colgate University this afternoon in the team's third match at the Colgate Invitational on Cotterell Court in Hamilton, NY. The Red Foxes Julie Gosewisch earned All-Tournament honors for her efforts in leading Marist to a 1-2 tournament record.
The Red Foxes (1-10) hit just .012 on the afternoon, with 29 kills and 27 errors in 113 total attacks. Gosewisch just missed out on a double-double, as she led all players with 12 digs, and finished with nine kills, hitting .212, committing just two errors on the afternoon. Ryann Gillen continued her strong play, dishing out 21 assists, to go along with four kills.
Gosewisch had a strong weekend all around, putting up a double-double against Niagara with 15 kills and 17 digs. She just missed a double-double, 16 kills, nine digs, as she led the Red Foxes to their first win of the season, 3-1, over Wagner on the first day of the tournament. Gillen had a strong tournament as well for Marist as she dished out 103 assists over the three matches.
Marist will return to action on Wednesday, September 26th when they travel to Worcester, Mass. to take on Holy Cross.
