Binghamton, N.Y.--The Marist College men's soccer team (3-1) recorded their third overtime win on the season, as junior midfielder Chris Zitkevitz (Elmer, NJ), scored 6:28 into the first sudden death overtime period, giving Marist the victory, 3-2.
Zitkevitz's game winning goal came from an assist by Joe Crespo (Bolton, Conn.), passing him the ball right in front of the goal. He then fired the ball past two Bearcat defenders to earn the win.
With two minutes remaining in the second half, Binghamton led, 2-1. However, Steven Murk (Clark, NJ), would then tie the game, assisted by freshman Ricky Cusano (Pomona, NY), shooting into the net with 1:45 remaining.
The other goal for the day would come from senior midfielder Joshua Van (Simsbury, Conn.), shooting from midfield, and delivering into the net at the 58:48 mark. Red Fox starting goal tender Carlos DeBrito (Union, NJ), would have eight saves in his 96:28 of play. Marist also led in shots, outshooting the Bearcats, 24-17, and in corner kicks, 10-4.
