Fairfield, CT - The Marist College men's soccer team fell to the Fairfield Stags 1-0 in MAAC play on Sunday afternoon. The game was originally scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., but got moved up to a 3:00 p.m. start time. The loss drops the Red Foxes to 2-7-1 on the season, and 1-1 in the MAAC.

The lone goal of the game was scored in the 46th minute when Manelick De La Parra put the Stags (3-5-1, 2-0) on the board after scoring from the center of the box off a throw-in by Billy Androutsos.

Marist was unable to mount a comeback as they were outshot 16-6 in the contest.

John Balzarini (Holbrook, NY) led the Red Foxes with eight saves on the day.

The Red Foxes return to action on Friday, October 18, when they host St. Peter's at Leonidoff Field for a 7:00 p.m. match.
