Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College women's soccer team defeated Iona 1-0 at North Field on Tuesday afternoon. The Red Foxes improve their record to 3-11-3, and 2-3-2 in MAAC play. The Gaels fall to 2-12-1, and 2-3-2 in the MAAC.

Marist scored the only goal of the game in the 43rd minute when Courtney Moore (Harwihton, CT) converted on a header attempt off a free kick from Stacy Ryan (Kensington, CT).

The goal was Moore's second of the season and proved to be the difference as the Red Foxes were able to control the tempo of the game. Marist outshot Iona 12-8 and had a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Marist goalkeeper Mellanie Nai (Suffield, CT) collected six saves on the afternoon and picked up her fifth shutout of the season.

The Red Foxes return to action on Friday, November 1st, when they travel to Niagara for a 3:00 p.m. match.
