Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College volleyball team fell to Long Island University 3-1 (27-30, 30-20, 30-19, 30-23) on Thursday night at the McCann Center. The loss drops the Red Foxes to 9-20 on the season. Long Island improves their record to 14-14.

The Red Foxes jumped out to an early lead, taking the first game, but were unable to hold off the Blackbirds, who hit .366 for the match.

Michelle Turley (Stevensville, MI) led Marist with 16 kills and 13 digs. Courtney Pusko (Cheshire, CT) played well, with 14 kills and six digs. Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA) had 40 assists and 10 digs, while Katie Lux (Wantagh, NY) did well defensively with 11 digs.

Cristina Pintilie led the Blackbirds with 31 kills and 16 digs. April Danzy also posted a double-double with 18 kills and 11 digs. Ivana Vasiljevic served up 56 assists to go along with 13 digs on the night.

The Red Foxes return to action on Saturday, November 2nd, when they host Fairleigh Dickinson in non-conference action at the McCann Center for a 2:00 p.m. match.
