Burlington, VT-The Marist College women's soccer team tied Cornell in double overtime today at Centennial Field in a non-conference match-up.

Despite being outshot 33-7, the Red Foxes played a defensive-minded game, with goalkeeper Mellanie Nai (Suffield, Conn.) making 17 saves. She now has 83 in the ten games she has played. Cornell's goalkeeper, Kristin Lotito made five saves in the afternoon match-up.

Senior Kelly Smith (Waldwick, NJ) led Marist with 3 shots on goal for the game. Courtney Moore (Harwihton, Conn.), Tara Savidge (New Hyde Park, NY), Kelly Naughton (Harrisville, RI), and Kathleen Murray (Pleasanton, CA) each also had a shot on net for the Red Foxes.

Marist returns home to begin defense of its regular season title when they host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Iona on Friday, October 11th, at 7:00 p.m. on Leonidoff Field. The Red Foxes will also look to end their 794-minute scoreless streak.
