Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College volleyball team lost 3-0 (30-16, 30-25, 30-23) to Iona on Wednesday night at the McCann Center. The loss drops the Red Foxes to 10-21 on the season, with a 3-5 record in MAAC play. Iona improves to 21-8, with a 7-1 MAAC record.

The Gaels won the first game in a convincing fashion, but the Red Foxes fought hard the rest of the way. The score was tied 20-20, before Iona mounted a rally and took the second game. In the third game, the Gaels were leading 25-17 until Marist scored four points in a row to pull within four. Iona was able to hold off the Red Foxes, however, and claim the win.

Michelle Turley (Stevensville, MI) led the Red Foxes with 12 kills and ten digs, while hitting .346 for the match. Courtney Pusko (Cheshire, CT) added seven kills and seven total blocks. Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA) finished the night with 26 assists, seven digs, and five kills.

Emily Mansur led Iona with 12 kills and 15 digs. Kathleen Owen recorded 11 kills and a .421 hitting percentage. Jennifer Hovan dished out 39 assists and tallied seven digs for the Gaels.

The Red Foxes return to action on Friday, November 8th, when they host Fairfield at the McCann Center for a 6:00 p.m. match.
