Marist Volleyball Falls In Three Sets To Robert Morris

Poughkeepsie, NY-The Marist College volleyball team fell in three sets (30-23, 30-20, 31-29) to Robert Morris University this afternoon at the McCann Center. The Red Foxes drop to 10-23 on the season.

The first game saw Marist tied with Robert Morris at 16, but then the Colonials took the lead late in the game and held on. In the second, the Red Foxes played hard but were unable to chip away at the lead. In the third game, Marist and Robert Morris fought for the lead, as the lead changed hands many times, but the Colonials were able to hold off the Red Foxes and take the match in three games.

Aline dos Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) led Marist with 16 kills, while Michelle Turley (Stevensville, MI) had 10. Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA) who broke the school's single season assists record Friday night, added 33 more assists, bringing the total to 1,020.

Karla Barhorst led Robert Morris with 15 kills, while Darcey Miller had 49 assists for the match.

This match concluded the regular season for the Red Foxes. Marist will now head down to Orlando, FL to compete in the MAAC Championships on November 16th-20th.
