Box Score

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - The Marist College men's basketball team dropped an 82-76 decision to Siena College in a quarterfinal game at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday, at Pepsi Arena.

Sean Kennedy scored a team-high 20 points and dished out 12 assists for his 10th double-double of the season. With his 13th point of the game, Kennedy became the 21st player in Marist history to record 1,000 career point, finishing the night with 1,007 points, 20th all-time.

Dwayne Archbold scored 25 of his points in the second half and 10 in the last 3:40 as the Saints were able to beat the second-seeded Red Foxes (19-9) for the first time in three games this season.

Down 47-40 with 15:43 to play, Siena went on an 8-0 run to take the lead and seize momentum. From that point Siena was in control and eventually moved ahead for good when two Archbold free throws put the Saints up 60-58 with 8:27 to play.

The closest Marist could get the rest of the way was when a Kennedy free throw made the score 77-74 with 1:01 left. Archbold scored the game's next five points to seal the win for Siena.

Marist had seemed to be in control in the first half. After Siena scored the game's first four points, Marist went on an 18-0 run and held the Saints scoreless for 5:58.

Kennedy, who led the Red Foxes with 20 points, keyed the run with a 3-pointer, a driving layup and a runner in the lane.

Siena got back into the game by halftime. A 9-2 run to end the half was led by a 3-pointer and a 3-point play by Archbold and a 3-pointer by Prosper Karangwa, cutting the Marist lead to 36-29 at the break.

Karangwa finished with 17 points while James Clinton added 14.

Nick Eppehimer had 17 points for Marist.
