Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College women's tennis team defeated St. Peter's College, 6-1, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest this afternoon, at the Dutchess Racquet Club. The Red Foxes improved 8-1 overall and 4-0 in MAAC play.
Marist captured five of the six singles matches led by the 6-0, 6-1 victory at number four singles by Courtney McGeever. Diana Perachio was victorious at the number on singles slot, defeating Joy Rodriguez 6-1, 6-1. Amanda Doestch was a winner at number two singles, 6-2, 6-3, while Jennifer Edwards captured the number five singles match, 7-6(7-1). Kara Bliss rounded out the singles winners with a 6-2, 6-0 win at number six singles.
The Red Foxes captured the doubles point as Doetsch and Perachio captured the number one doubles match 8-3, the same score which Salloum and Bliss tallied in winning the number two doubles match.
The women's tennis team will return to action on Wednesday, April 3rd, when it travels to MAAC foe Fairfield, for a 3:00 pm contest.
