Lawrenceville, NJ- The Red Foxes won a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game over Rider on Monday to take the three game series two games to one.
Marist (10-9, 4-2 MAAC) erupted for five runs in the fifth inning on four doubles to take an 8-2 lead, and scored six more runs in the sixth inning on just three hits and three Rider errors to put the game away.
For the Broncs (9-9, 4-2 MAAC), sophomore David Deane had three hits, including a double, and a senior catcher Rich Brooks also added three hits.
The Red Foxes were led by junior John McGorty (West Sayville, NY), who hit two doubles and compiled three RBI. Senior Anthony Bocchino (Brooklyn, NY) also added two hits including a solo home run to lead off the sixth inning.
Marist returns to action on Wednesday April 3rd at 3:00 PM when they travel to Connecticut to play Hartford. They will then play at home on Thursday April 4th at 3:00 PM against Central Connecticut.
