Poughkeepsie, NY---The Marist College women's tennis team (11-5, 6-3 MAAC) was defeated this afternoon by Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Niagara, 6-1, in the match held at the Hudson Valley Tennis Club this afternoon.

Doubles play was highlighted at number two doubles, with the Red Fox duo of Kara Bliss (Burnt Hills, NY) and Kristy Salloum (Lakewood, NJ), who captured the win over Colleen Carey and Kendra Daigler, 8-2.

In singles, freshman Courtney McGeever (Wickliffe, OH) notched Marist's only win at number five singles against Carey, 6-3, 6-2.

The Red Foxes will return to the courts on Tuesday, April 16th, when they play Iona College in a non-conference match. The contest is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in New Rochelle, NY
