New Britain, CT-The Marist women's cross country team placed sixth today at the Central Connecticut State Invitational held at Stanley Quarter Park.
Stony Brook finished first with 29 points followed by Connecticut (78), Vermont (97), Maine (111), and Monmouth (166). The Red Foxes finished the day with 169 points beating teams from Siena (180), Sacred Heart (187), Quinnipiac (211), Farleigh Dickinson (248), and Central Connecticut (264).
The top finisher for Marist was Junior Jenn Rosenblatt (Naugatuck, Conn.) who placed 12th out of 125 runners in a time of 18:57 for the 5,000 meter course. Senior Susan Golden (Vernon, Conn.) finished 26th with a time of 19:35. Rounding out the scoring for the Red Foxes were: senior Jen Klier (Williamsville, NY) placing 33rd with a time of 19:59, junior Cheryl Norris (Schenectady, NY) completing the course in 20:20 for 46th place, and freshman Cheryl Fil (Wappingers Falls, NY) finishing 52nd in a time of 20:34.
Marist will travel to New York City's Van Cortlandt Park on Friday, October 4th to compete in the Metropolitan Championships.
