Women's Soccer Falls to Maine 4-0

Orono, ME-The Marist College women's soccer team fell to the University of Maine Black Bears 4-0 this afternoon. The Red Foxes are 1-6 in non-conference play.

Marist had a strong first half giving up one goal in the 40th minute to Maine's Maija Kaldro. Allison Kelly got the assist on the play. In The second half, the Black Bears Kate Crawford scored in the 67th and 69th minute, being assisted by Erin Corey and Heather Hathorn, respectively. Hathorn scored in the 71st minute making the score 4-0.

Naomi Welsh had the shutout for Maine, only having to make one save on a shot by Red Fox Laura Clark (Syracuse, NY). Mellanie Nai (Suffield, Conn.) made seven saves in the game.

The Red Foxes return to action Tuesday, October 1st, when they host Army at 7:00 p.m. on Leonidoff Field.
