Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College women's tennis team opened their regular season today in impressive fashion defeating the Rider Broncs 7-0 at the Dutchess Racquet and Tennis Club.

In singles competition, freshman Yana Tikhonko (Brooklyn, NY) beat Meredith Dossin in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. Sophomore Amanda Doetsch (Freehold, NJ) defeated Carolina Duval 6-1, 6-1. Diana Perachio (Newtown, CT) outlasted Dana Previti 6-0, 6-1. Yana Krugly (Staten Island, NY) won her match against Logan Kapinus in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Courtney McGeever (Wickliffe, OH) shut out Steph Petrasko 6-0, 6-0, and freshman Tara Dolan (Hopewell Junction, NY) defeated Brandi Plumer 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles play, Doetsch and Perachio defeated Dossin and Preuit 8-2. Tikhonko and Krugly shut out Duval and Kapinus 8-0, and McGeever and Katie Szymanski (Scituate, MA) won their match against Petrasko and Gabby Brown, 8-1.

Marist will host Monmouth on Wednesday, October 2nd at 3:30 p.m.
