Poughkeepsie, NY - The Red Fox men's soccer team lost by a score of 2-0 to Binghamton University at Leonidoff Field this afternoon. With the loss, Marist fell to 0-2 on the season.
Marist had plenty of opportunities to score, edging Binghamton in the corner kick department, 4-0. The shot totals were close as Binghamton outshot Marist 10-8.
Binghamton (1-2) scored their first goal on a 20-yard shot by Keith Augeri at the 42-minute mark to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. Stephen Neuman provided the assist on the play.
The Bearcats would strike again in the second half as Danilo scored on an unassisted free kick from 25 yards out to make the score 2-0.
Mike Valenti (Sicklerville, NJ) played the entire game in goal for the Red Foxes and had five saves.
Marist continues their homestand when they host the Hofstra Pride at Leondioff Field on Thursday, September 12, at 7 p.m.
