Loudonville, NY -- The Marist College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Siena College in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action today at Siena Field. With the win the Saints improve to 6-6-1 overall and 2-2-1 in league play while the Red Foxes drop to 2-10-1 and 1-2-1 in the MAAC with the loss.
The Red Foxes were out shot 8-4 by the host, with the Saints peppering Marist goalkeeper Meredith Fabian with six shots in the first half. Fabian played the entire 90 minutes of action, making four saves, and allowing a goal by the Saints in each half.
The Saints scored their first goal of the afternoon less than three minutes into the first half, as Corry Silon found the back to give Siena the 1-0 lead. After a corner kick, Jen Kies got her head on the ball and directed it towards Katie Ferry who touched it over to Silon for the tally. Melissa Farrington added an insurance goal for the Green and Gold at the 75:14 mark of the second half after putting away a ball by Sarah Shumway.
Noel Cox recorded her second shutout of the season and had one save in the cage for Siena.
