Poughkeepsie, NY - The Red Foxes never let up as they pressed the Gaels defense netting five goals for their first win in two games on Leonidoff Field. Marist is now 4-3 at home and improve to 9-3-1 overall while Iona falls 5-9-3 on the year.

The Red Foxes would strike again 11 minutes later when sophomore Bruno Machado (Danbury, CT/Danbury) took a corner kick crossing the ball to sophomore forward Benjamin Castor's (Richboro, PA/Council Rock) head which found the left corner of the Gaels net.

Castor's scoring parade continued when in the 71.05 minute of play sophomore midfielder Matt Partain (Poughkeepsie, NY/Rutgers) had a breakaway down the left side of the field and one-time the ball to the foot of Castor who laid it into the net for the third goal of the evening.

Detelj would strike twice in the second half after tipping the ball into enemy territory at the 75.04 minute of play. Detelj's goal was assisted by junior midfielder Matt Flaherty (Fishkill, NY/John Jay) and freshman midfielder Anthony Graci (Commack, NY/St. Anthony).

The fifth and final goal would come with just a minute left in the game as Detelj took a rebound off the Iona goalie for his seventh goal of the season.

The Red Foxes will return to Leonidoff Field on Sunday, October 26th to face MAAC competitor Fairfield at 7:00pm.
