Lawrenceville, NJ - Marist College volleyball collected their 11th win of the season in three games against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Rider tonight. The Red Foxes have now improved their record to 11-19, which is one game better than last years final.
Marist would take Rider by storm as they chased the Broncs off the court in a mere three games. The Red Foxes would steamroll 30-24, 30-22, 30-17 for the indisputable win.
Junior setter Amy Gillespie (Lebo,KS/ NE Oklahoma A&M) posted a double double with a team high 13 kills and 16 digs while freshman middle blocker Sally Hanson (Guernville, CA/ El Molino) earned a .400 hitting percentage with 12 kills, zero errors and three aces.
Sophomore setter Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA/El Dorado) collected 33 assists, which brings her total to 984 on the season. Cochrane needs only 16 more assists to post 1000 for the second consecutive year. Sophomore Katie Lux (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) added in a team leading 18 digs.
The Red Foxes will travel to Baltimore Maryland on Saturday, October 25th to face MAAC challenger Loyola. Game time is scheduled for 6:30pm.
