Full Weekend Of Athletic Events Set For Homecoming Weekend

Marist College is hosting its annual Homecoming Weekend, Friday-Sunday, October 10-12th, and the Department of Athletics has a full slate prepared to welcome back the entire Marist Alumni Family.

The women's soccer team will kick-off the weekend's activities with a contest against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe, Niagara, Friday at 7:00 pm. The Red Foxes, 0-1-1 in MAAC play entering the weekend, will cap the Alumni Weekend with another home contest, versus Canisius, another MAAC opponent, Sunday at 1:00 pm.

The football team will be hosting the only other varsity event over the course of the weekend, as it hosts MAAC Football League foe, LaSalle, Saturday at 1:00 pm.

The Department of Athletics has also a full schedule of alumni events and gatherings over the course of the weekend. Friday at 8:00 pm, the Department of Athletics will host its annual reception in the McCann Center foyar. There will be food and drink and a chance to mingle with fellow alums, and current members of the Marist coaching staff and administration. Saturday's events will begin early, as the crew programs wll host a reception at the boathouse on the banks of the Hudson River at 8:00 am. The annual Alumni 5K run will begin at 10:00 am. All are welcome to compete, and the run will begin at Champagnet Hall in the center of campus. The baseball and men's lacrosse teams will hold Alumni events on Saturday, beginning at noon. Baseball has scheduled an intra-squad scrimmage and barbeque on the McCann Baseball Field, while the lax alum will lace up the old cleats on the McCann practice field.

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams will hold its annual Red-White Challenge at 11:00 am in the McCann Center pool. Coffee and donuts will be provided for those alumni who attend.

Sunday finds more events taking place, as the women's lacrosse team, under new head coach Noelle Cebron, welcome back their alumnae for a game on North Field at 11:00 am. The softball team will host its alumnae contest at 2:00 pm at the softball stadium on North Field.
