Poughkeepsie, NY - Marist College volleyball team fell to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rival Niagara 3-1 today in the McCann Center. The Red Foxes have now dropped out of MAAC Championship contention as they prepare for their final games of the season.
D?j? vu would strike the Red Fox court as Marist would steamroll to a 33-31 victory in the first game. The Red Fox magic however dwindled when Marist fell 30-6 in game two followed by a 30-19 defeat for game three. The Red Foxes would battle for game four as they deadlocked the score five times only to fall to a heartbreaking 30-27 final.
Freshman outside hitter Stefanie Miksch (Austin, TX/James Bowie) led the Red Fox attack drilling in 12 kills and seven digs on the game. Freshman Jamie Kenworthy (Aston, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) added eight kills and nine digs to the Marist effort while junior setter Amy Gillespie (Lebo, KS/ NE Oklahoma A&M) chipped in 30 assists on the game.
The Red Foxes hit the court again on Wednesday, November 5th when they host non-conference rival Providence at 7:00 pm.
