Box Score

Poughkeepsie, NY - It was a very special Senior Day for senior Katie Tutak as she scored the game-winner, lifting Marist to a 1-0 victory over Manhattan this afternoon. The Red Foxes finish the season 4-12-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference while Manhattan finishes the season 5-13-0 and 5-4-0 in conference play.

The Red Foxes came out firing in the first half, peppering Jasper goalie Jeanne Marie Gilbert nine shots, while holding Manhattan to five.

After a scoreless first period, the Red Foxes continued the barrage of shots, taking five shots in the first six minutes of play in the second half. The stalemate was ended at 66:23 as sophomore Kathleen Murray connected with Tutak who slammed home her second goal of the season in the top right corner of the net. The assist was Murray's seventh of the season, tying her for the Marist record for most assists in a season and moves her into third place all-time in career assists (9).

Manhattan's best scoring chance came in the 74th minute as forward Lindsay Bernstein broke through several defenders for a wide-open shot but could not get it by senior keeper Meredith Fabian.

Marist looked to add another goal with just under 10 minutes remaining on a penalty kick by senior Stacy Ryan, but the shot was blocked by Gilbert.

Marist outshot the Jaspers 21-12. Fabian made three stops for the Red Foxes en route to her third shutout of the season, while Gilbert made 14 saves for Manhattan.
