The Marist College (4-2, 2-0 MAAC) women's basketball team won its third-straight downing St. Bonaventure (2-4) 62-54 this evening at the McCann Center. With the win, the Red Foxes move to 4-0 at home.

After Bonnies pulled within two points of the lead with 35 seconds remaining, Kristen Keller, Maureen Magarity, and Nina Vecchio each hit two free throws to secure the win.

With the Red Foxes on top 55-47 with 1:44 remaining, the Bonnies began a 4-0 run sparked by a Becky Valenti jumper. Guard Stefanie Collins followed with a jumper of her own making the score 55-51. Collins was fouled on the attempt but was unable to convert the three-point play.

Senior Kerry Sullivan led the second half charge scoring 12 points in the period. She finished the night with 17 points on 6-8 shooting, four rebounds and an assist before leaving the game with an ankle injury.

After falling behind 7-0 in the opening minutes of the first half, the Red Foxes chipped away at the lead, tying the score 16-16 with 5:22 left in the half on a jumper by Stephanie Del Preore. The Bonnies regained the lead less than a minute later on a three-pointer by Shannon Bodamer. Vecchio answered with two consecutive three-pointers putting Marist on top 25-24. Sullivan hit a three at the buzzer to give the Red Foxes a 29-25 lead going into the half.

Vecchio finished the night with a season-high 12 points, three assists and two steals in 37 minutes of action. Del Preore tied a career-high pulling down 13 rebounds and scored nine points. For the Bonnies, Valenti led the way 13 points and eight rebounds. The Red Foxes were able to hold leading scorer Collins to nine points.

As a team, the Red Foxes shot .895 from the free throw line on 17-19 shooting, including 15-17 in the second half.

The Red Foxes return to action on Sunday, December 21st at 2:00pm against SEC powerhouse Auburn at the McCann Center.
