Loudonville, NY--The Marist College women's basketball team fell to the Siena Saints 68-60 tonight at the Alumni Rec Center. The Red Foxes are now 11-15 on the season and are posting a 7-10 record in the conference.
The Red Foxes found themselves down by ten to open the first half, but fought their way back to take a 25-22 lead by halftime. Marist opened the second with an 8-0 run putting them up by 11 on a three by Kristin Keller (Millbrook, NY). The Saints made a run of their own, tying the game at 11:20 on a three by Gunta Basko. Marist was unable to recover late in the second and fell to the Saints by eight.
Marist had three players hit double digits with Maureen Magarity (Wappingers Falls, NY) leading the way with 17. Keller and Stephanie Del Preore (Livingston, NJ) finished with 11 and ten, respectively. Del Preore led the team in rebounds with eight.
The Red Foxes shot 43.2 percent from the field compared to Siena's 30.5.
Marist returns to action Sunday, March 2nd, when they host St. Peter's in the final home game of the season at 2:00 p.m.
