New Rochelle, NY-The Marist College men's crew team successfully defended its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) title for the third year in a row, sweeping every category it entered. The Red Foxes finished first in the point standings with 120. Iona placed second with 37 points, while Loyola finished third (35.5), and Fairfield placing fourth with 34.
In the men's varsity eight race, the "A" boat crossed the line first in a time of 6:24.3 and the "B" boat placed third with a time of 6:33.3. The men's novice eight "A" and "B" boats went 1-2, crossing the line with times of 6:19.5 and 6:43.2, respectively.
In fours' competition, the men's varsity "A" placed first in a time of 6:52.8, while the "B" boat finished third in a time of 7:04.5. The men's junior varsity four was first in a time of 7:13.3, while the men's novice four crossed the line in a time of 7:12.1, placing first.
The Red Foxes return to action Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4th, when they compete in the New York State Championships in Whitney Point, NY.
