BUFFALO, N.Y. - Andy Kiriakedes went 3-for-6 with a double, a triple and
three runs, while Jimmy Board was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three
RBI to lead Marist College (25-13-1, 14-4 MAAC) to a 14-3 baseball victory
over Canisius College (3-28-1, 2-15 MAAC) Sunday afternoon at the
Demske Sports Complex.
Bryan Towler was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI, while Mike Sidoti
was 3-for-5 with three runs for Marist. Keith Brachold went 2-for-3 and
scored three runs. Kevin Ool picked up the win on the mound after
pitching seven innings and allowing three earned runs.
Danny Conrad went 2-for-4 with a home run to lead Canisius, and
Harpreet Padda went 1-for-3 with a solo homer. Gabe Baida and Dennis
Wellman each went 1-for-2, and John Cicero was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Ryan Topping suffered the loss on the mound.
Marist scored 10 runs in the first two innings. Kiriakedes stroked an RBI
double in the first, Sidoti had an RBI single and Board drove in two runs
with a single to right field.
Kiriakedes drove in a run with a triple in the second frame, while Sidoti
singled in a run. Board and Bryan Towler posted RBI doubles.
Padda and Conrad each collected solo homers to lead the Canisius
offense. Baida smacked a triple in the seventh and scored on a Cicero
single for the Griffs' last run.
