Marist Volleyball Drops as UPenn Invite

Philadelphia, PA - Marist College volleyball team had a tough weekend as they dropped their final two games of the University of Pennsylvania Invitational. The Red Foxes fell to non-conference rival Albany 3-1 (30-18, 30-19, 30-26, 30-18) and host Penn 3-1 (30-25, 30-25, 30-18, 30-8).

Freshman outside hitter Stefanie Miksch (Austin, TX/James Bowie) led the Red Foxes against Albany with seven kills and 11 digs while teammate Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) and Amy Gillespie (Lebo, KS/NE Oklahoma A&M) also added seven kills on the game.

Miksch would lead the Red Foxes once again as she collected a double double with 14 kills and 14 digs against Penn. Freshman middle blocker Sally Hanson (Guernevile, CA/El Molino) posted a team leading .350 hitting percentage behind 10 kills and two aces while senior middle blocker Christina Brozek (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) added nine kills to the Marist attack. Sophomore setter Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA/El Dorado) chipped in 36 assists while classmate Katie Lux (Wantagh, NY/Sacred Heart) collected 17 digs.

The Marist Red Foxes will be in action once again on Wednesday, October 1st when they travel to Loundonville, NY to face MAAC rival Siena in their first conference match of the season.
