West Point, NY - Marist College men's soccer team came back from Friday night's loss to defeat Army 2-1 tonight on Clinton Field. This win comes two days before the Red Foxes have to gear up for conference play starting on Friday night.
Marist was first to open the scoring when sophomore forward Bruno Machado (Danbury, CT/Danbury) took a feed from rookie midfielder Anthony Graci (Kings Park/St. Anthony's) and found the back of the net midway through the first half.
The Red Foxes would strike again less than two minutes into the second half when sophomore back Peter Rea (Bohemia, NY/Connetquot) one timed the ball to junior forward Patrick Sanfino (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury) as he dented the net to make it a 2-0 score.
The Black Knights would not end the game scoreless, as Army was able to convert a penalty kick at the 55:23 mark.
Machado now has three goals on the year while Graci and Sanfino collect their first goals of the season.
