Boston, MA - The women's basketball team rounded out their non-conference play on a down note falling to Boston University 72-46 this afternoon at Case Gymnasium. With the loss the Red Foxes fall to 6-5, while the Terriers improve to 5-4.
The Terriers went on a 8-2 to open the game and did not relinquish the lead the rest of the way. The Red Foxes went on a run of their own pulling within two at the 14:30 mark on a Maureen Magarity jumper, but the Terriers continued their offensive attack.
The Red Foxes, who were down by as much as 30 points in the second half, was able to cut the deficit to 63-46 late in the half but could not overtake the Terriers. As a team, Boston finished the day shooting 46.7 percent from the floor, while Marist shot just 25 percent.
For Marist, Magarity scored 13 points while grabbing five rebounds. Fellow senior Stephanie Del Preore pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Junior Kristin Keller chipped in with four points, six rebounds, three steals and a block.
Freshmen Shannon Minter and Kristin Hein both played well for the Red Foxes, each scoring five points in 16 minutes of action.
The Terriers were led by Katie Terhune who recorded 21 points and eight rebounds. Adrienne Norris notched a double-double with 16 ponts and 12 rebounds.
