LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Junior Jerry Johnson scored 16 points and had five assists to lead Rider to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory over Marist Saturday.

Holding a 56-55 lead with 3:00 left to play, Rider (12-7, 6-3 MAAC) went on a 5-0 run, taking a 61-55 lead on a three-point field goal by freshman Terrance Mouton. Mouton finished with eight points.

With Rider leading 61-59 lead, the 5'11" Mouton blocked a shot by Jared Jordan with 3.0 seconds left.

Marist (5-14, 3-7 MAAC) led 35-27 before the Broncs went on an 11-2 run, four points by junior Robert Taylor, to take a 38-37 lead with 17:06 left to play. Taylor finished with nine points.

Marist trailed 23-15 before out-scoring Rider 12-0 to take a 27-23 lead, and Marist led 33-27 at the half.

Brandon Ellerbee led Marist with 15 points, while Will McClurkin added nine points and 10 rebounds.

Junior Steve Castleberry had nine points and eight rebounds for the Broncs.
