Poughkeepsie, NY -
The Marist women's soccer team dropped its final non-conference match-up to Army, 5-3. After being tied, 3-3 at the half, the Black Knights managed to slip two more goals past the Red Foxes' defense for the win.
Army got off to a quick start, taking the 2-0 lead by the 23:00 mark off goals by Delaney Brown and Jen Pascucci. Marist sophomore midfielder Jenna McCrory (North Kingstown, RI) scored the Red Foxes first goal at 28:48 to put the Red Foxes on the board. Less than a minute later, classmate Kristen Leonhard (Succasunna, NJ) beat Army's Devon Collins on a penalty kick to knot the score. Just minutes later, senior captain Courtney Moore (Harwinton, CT) headed the ball for a goal off a perfect cross from junior Ashley Johnson (Avalon, NJ).
Army's Alison Mulnix, tied the score off an assist from Brown at 3-3 before heading into the half. It was all Army from then on, with Pascucci picking up her second goal of the night at 51:38 and Brown recording her second off a penalty kick, 15 minutes later. Despite putting on solid offensive pressure, the Red Foxes could not convert for a goal.
