POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Melissa Tucci's women's softball squad had nine players from its 2004 squad tabbed as Academic All-America members this fall by the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association).

The Red Foxes posted a 3.528 team GPA a year ago, just behind Eastern Michigan (3.552) and St. Louis (3.529). That average was also the highest among all Marist teams from 2003-04.

The team members earning the honor were: Allison Bartley, Chrystine McHugh, Christine Jakobsen, Bridget Hurlman, Lindsey Wilson, Danielle Blake, Barbara Leasure, Nicole Sciacca and Megan Culvert.

Marist will begin its 2005 slate against Southern Mississippi on Friday, February 25th at 9 a.m. in Macon, Ga.
