March 16, 2004

Box Score

El Paso, Texas - The Marist College softball team had another tough outing falling to the University of Texas-El Paso 4-3 this afternoon.

Marist (3-12) broke open a scoreless game in the top of the fifth with three runs. The Miners (7-14) would peck away at the Red Fox lead with a run in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Miners' Jennifer Garcia sent a 3-2 pitch over the leftfield fence scoring Lindsey Pidgen and giving UTEP the 4-3 victory. Garcia hit her first homerun of the season against Marist last weekend at the NMSU Invitational - also the game-winner.

The Red Foxes will be back in action on March 18th as they travel to Delaware State University.
