NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Nine Yale pitchers combined to allow seven hits and shutout Marist, 7-0, at Yale Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs, who have won four of their last five games, scored seven runs in the first two innings.

Yale (5-6) sent nine batters to the plate in the bottom of the second and scored six runs, highlighted by a Matt Stone two-RBI double and a Chris Esper RBI single.

The Bulldogs' bullpen retired 13 straight batters at one point, as Brett Rosenthal, John Janco, Mike Mongiardini and Doug Shimokawa each pitched one perfect inning in relief of Yale starter Alec Smith (2-1).

Bryan Towler went 3-for-4 for Marist (4-14). Red Foxes' starter Jonathan Smith took the loss, surrendering seven runs (three earned) and eight hits over five innings.
