Whitney Point, NY - The Marist College crew teams battled inclement weather throughout the entire weekend at the New York State Championships.
The women's V8, which had its heats raced on Saturday, the only event that morning, qualified for the final, which was never held. In the heats the WV8 defeated Skidmore, Russell Sage and Army, and finished behind Army, who would have competed with the Red Foxes in the final if the weather had been rowed.
Sunday saw just one women's race, the JV8 and three men's races, the JV8, V4 and V8 contested. The MJV8 was a final only, which the Red Foxes won, defeating Ithaca. The V4 saw the Red Fox 'A' and 'B' boats both win their respective heats. The MV8 also won its heat, defeating Ithaca. Marist along with Ithaca, Dowling, Colgate, Hobart and Army, all finaled, but did not compete the final race.
Marist returns to action next weekend at the ECAC Championship and then the first weekend of June at the IRA Regatta.
