The Marist volleyball team defeated Columbia in three games this afternoon, 30-25, 30-22, 30-27. During the win, junior Katie Lux (Wantagh, NY) broke the all-time career digs record, previously held by Julie Gosewisch (861). Lux's career total is now 866.
Sophomore Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, PA) led the Red Foxes with a double-double, posting 10 kills and 12 digs. Classmates Sally Hanson (Guerneville, CA) and Stephanie Miksch (Austin, TX) each recorded 10 digs, with Hanson hitting 33 percent.
Sophomore Dominique O'Sullivan (Anaheim, CA) led the defense with 14 digs while junior Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA) chipped in 34 assists to spur the Marist offense.
For their efforts during the weekend, Lux and sophomore Kim McEathron (Ballston Spa, NY) were both named to the Lehigh Mountain Hawk Classic All-Tournament team.
The Red Foxes will next be in action when they host the Red Fox Classic on Sept. 17-18 here at the McCann Center.
