POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Marist volleyball team lost to Central Connecticut this afternoon, 30-23, 30-28, 30-25. It was the first match of the Red Fox Classic for Marist, bringing its record to 0-1 on the weekend.

The Red Foxes bounced back from a first game loss to take game two down to the wire, with the Blue Devils pulling out a 30-28 win. Central Connecticut came back strong in the third game, winning 30-25 to take the match.

Sophomore Sally Hanson (Guerneville, CA) recorded 12 kills to lead the Red Foxes offense while junior Katie Lux (Wantagh, NY) paced the defense with 10 digs. Freshman Christy Lukes (Mesa, AZ) recorded seven kills, two blocks and a service ace in a solid outing.

The Blue Devils were led by Chantelle Bowden who had 14 kills as well as Shannon Verity and Jennifer Cote, who each recorded a dozen kills.

The Red Foxes will next be in action this evening at 6:00 p.m. when they face the Blue Hens of Delaware.
