POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Marist volleyball team defeated Brown this morning, 3-1. After taking the first game 30-27, Marist fell in the second to the Bears, 30-20. That was all the Red Foxes would give up as they took the third and fourth games, 30-22 and 30-25.

Sophomore Jaime Kenworthy (Acton, PA) led Marist with a double-double, recording 11 kills and 10 digs. Senior Amy Gillespie (Lebo, KS) had a game-high 14 kills, while Sally Hanson (Guerneville, CA) recorded 11 kills and eight digs. Junior Katie Lux (Wantagh, NY) paced the defense with 14 digs, while classmate Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA) contributed 44 assists en route to the victory.

Brown was led by Liz Cvitan, who had 13 kills and Elvina Kung who contributed 22 digs.

The Red Foxes will next be in action this afternoon when they take on Holy Cross at 2:00 p.m.
