Poughkeepsie, N.Y.- The Marist Red Foxes (1-3) fell to visiting Albany (4-1-1) 2-1 at Leonidoff Field today. Sophomore forward Keith Detelj scored his third goal of the season and scored for the second consecutive game.
Detelj tallied the goal off a misplay by an Albany defender in the 33rd minute. The goal was only the second goal allowed by Albany and goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul.
The Red Foxes attacked the Albany net all game, firing 20 shots at Coundoul. He made nine saves in the contest.
Yan Gbolo scored both Albany goals, including the game-winner in the 73rd minute as well as the first goal of the game, recorded in the 18th minute.
Senior goalkeeper Mike Valenti kept Marist in the game with three saves.
The Red Foxes are back in action Wednesday night, hosting Hofstra under the lights at Leonidoff Field. Game time is 7 p.m.
