Men's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker at Stony Brook

Stony Brook, N.Y.-- The Marist Red Foxes men's soccer team fell to host Stony Brook 2-1 in overtime Saturday night at LaValle Stadium. Sophomore Anthony Graci scored his second goal of the season, which was assisted by sophomore Keith Detelj and junior Alex Giotis. It was Detelj's second assist in two games.

The game was tied 0-0 when Graci scored in the 78th minute to give Marist (0-2) the lead, but it was short-lived. Jose Sura scored off a pass from Michael Palacio to tie the game in the 84th minute. The game then went into sudden-death overtime where Palacio recorded the game-winner for the Seawolves (1-0) in the 100th minute following a corner kick.

Senior Mike Valenti played all 90 minutes of regulation in goal for the Red Foxes, recording one save. Sophomore Michael Danyo was in net for the overtime period.

The Red Foxes are back in action Wednesday night, hosting Colgate at Leonidoff Field. Game time is 7 p.m.
