POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-The Marist Department of Athletics will host its annual Red/White basketball scrimmages this Friday evening for the Red Foxes' men's and women's basketball squads. Game time will be 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men. Ticket applications will be available and admission is free to all.

Brian Giorgis' women's squad is coming off a 22-7 season, which saw Marist claim the MAAC's regular season title with a 16-game winning streak to finish the regular season. Senior forward Fifi Camara (Conakry, Guinea) led Marist last season with 15.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest on her way to earning first-team All-MAAC honors.

The Marist men's squad will look to recapture the success it enjoyed last January when the Red Foxes sat atop the MAAC standings at 7-1. Juniors Will Whittington (Kingwood, Tx.) and Jared Jordan (Hartford, Conn.) were named third-team All-MAAC members. Whittington became only the fourth player in NCAA history to finish the season ranked in the top six nationally in 3-point percentage (49.2) and 3-pointers per game (3.5). Jordan finished second in the league in assists (6.26) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.41), while averaging 11.7 points.
