Final Stats
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- The Marist Women's Volleyball team dropped their season finale to Saint Peter's on Saturday afternoon 3-0. Scores of the games were 30-20, 30-18 and 30-25 in favor of the Peahens. The match marked the final time that Marist's two seniors, Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, Calif.) and Katie Lux (Wantagh, N.Y.) would don the red and white.
Saint Peter's (16-12, 5-3 MAAC) was led by three players who recorded double-digit kills, including a double-double from Serra Soylou. Soylou tallied 15 kills on the day along with 14 digs. Sasha Pshenychka and Gulhan Cakcak also recorded double-digit kills for the Peahens with 15 and 13, respectively.
The Red Foxes were led by junior Jaime Kenworthy (Ashton, Pa.) who recorded eight kills for the match. Cochran added to her school record in career assists, recording 23 on the day. Fellow senior Lux led Marist defensively, picking up 16 digs for the match.
Prior to the match Cochrane and Lux were honored for their contributions to the Marist Volleyball program along with their parents. Cochran sits atop the school record book for career assists, while Lux leads the way in career digs.
Marist closes out the 2005 campaign with an 8-20 overall record and a 2-7 in the MAAC.
