Men's and Women's Crew Teams Advance to Finals at Knecht Cup

Camden, NJ - The men's and women's crew teams posted impressive results on the first day of competition at the Knecht Cup in Camden, NJ. Today, the Red Foxes competed against crews from over 50 schools from California to Maine, Wisconsin to Florida. The first day of races consisted of preliminary heats and semifinal races (for those who qualified). The women's varsity eight advanced to the Grand Final of that class for the first time in program history. The finals will feature the Red Foxes, UMass, Gonzaga, Rhode Island, Sacramento State and George Washington. Marist defeated the likes of West Virginia, Kansas, Buffalo, Georgetown and Boston College on Saturday to advance.

Highlights of the day included a second place finish in the Men's Second Varsity Eight final and the Men's Varisty Eight and Novice Eight boats posting the best overall times in the semifinals of their respective classes.
