POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Marist senior outside hitter Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, Pa.) became the first player in program history to record 1,000 career kills, but the Red Foxes suffered a 3-0 loss to Siena on Wednesday at the McCann Center in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest. The Saints prevailed by game scores of 30-16, 30-11, 30-24.
Kenworthy's historic kill came in the third game. She finished with seven to go along with six digs in the match. Junior middle blocker Christy Lukes (Mesa, Ariz.) led the Red Foxes with eight kills, and senior libero Kim McEathron (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) finished with a team-high seven digs. Freshman setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) totaled 22 assists and five digs.
Kaui Robello paced Siena (11-8 overall, 7-0 MAAC) with 11 kills, nine digs and six aces. Burgandy McCurty had a team-high 14 kills, and April London totaled 44 assists, five kills, four aces and four digs.
Marist (4-12, 2-5) returns to action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. MAAC contest at Rider.
