LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Marist Volleyball team dropped a three set decision at Siena (18-12, 14-3 MAAC) on Thursday night. Senior captain Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, Pa.) posted a team high nine kills and a match high 14 digs in the match. Scores for the match were 20-30, 21-30 and 26-30 in favor of the Saints.
Kenworthy was followed in kills by freshman Alexandra Schultze (Austin, Texas) who recorded eight to go along with five digs and two total blocks. Sally Hanson (Guerneville, Calif.) added seven kills, four digs and two total blocks in the match for the Red Foxes. Junior Christy Lukes (Mesa, Ariz.) recorded a match high five total blocks for Marist, while freshman setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) totaled 27 assists.
Siena had three record double figures in kills, led by Christie Gustafson who had 14. Gustafson was also one of four Saints with ten-plus digs with her 10. April London recorded a match high 40 assists for Siena in the win.
With the loss, Marist falls to 10-17 overall on the season and 7-10 in MAAC play. Marist will close out the regular season on Sunday when it hosts Manhattan at 2:00 p.m. Prior to the match Marist will honor six seniors who will play their final match at the McCann Center.
