Marist Women Hammer Fairfield, 82-54

Feb. 23, 2006

Recap |  Final Stats

Fairfield Head Coach Dianne Nolan

On first half deficit:
Anytime you fall behind that much on the road it is going to be difficult to come back. We came out after halftime and tried to make some adjustments. After the game we talked about some of the little things that need to be done in order to win and when those things are done the bigger things fall into place.

Marist Head Coach Brian Giorgis

On First half of the game:
We came out tonight with great energy. Julianne started out hot from the floor and it carried over to the rest of the team. We defended the ball well and this is the way you want to win games at home. Twenty wins is something you can't take for granted, it is a special moment for us.

On mentality going into MAAC Tournament:
We are going into the tournament a confident team. The loss to Loyola wasn't a bad thing because we see that if we do not play well we can lose. We are much better offensively and we're deeper this year than we have been before.

Freshman guard Julianne Viani

On hot shooting first half:
I'm happy everything was falling. It was a big game for us coming off the loss to Loyola, and it was a big night for us tonight too with senior day and the last home game.

Sophomore center Meg Dahlman

On tonight's game:
We wanted to win tonight for the seniors and get sole possession of the MAAC title. I've had a couple of tough games in a row so it was important for me to step up tonight and have a good game. It's always nice to go into the half with the lead, but you can't relax with a big lead or let your guard down.

On first trip to MAAC Tournament:
I'm going to treat it like any other game, and I'm not going to get nervous about it. I am glad I have the opportunity to help the team.

Senior guard Kristen Vilardi

On her last home game:
It was special. It is a moment I will never forget. We have been very successful and fortunate and it's been a great four years here.

Fifi Camara

On her last home game:
I was exciting seeing all the fans behind us. Hopefully the team can continue to be successful in the future.
