Final Stats
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-Four Marist starters knocked in two runs each as the Red Foxes' baseball squad knocked off Saint Peter's 14-4 Monday, completing the three-game sweep of the Peacocks. Marist improved to 13-19 overall and 7-5 in league play, while Saint Peter's dropped to 8-23 overall and 3-9 in MAAC action.
Junior right fielder Travis Musolf (Manchester, N.J.), junior designated hitter Justin Lepore (Madison, Conn.), senior catcher Bryan Towler (Hampton, N.H.) and junior left fielder Tom Ciccarone (Somerset, N.J.) all collected two RBI on the afternoon, while senior first baseman Kevin Grauer (Plain City, Ohio) went 3-for-3 at the plate. Lepore and freshman second baseman Kyle Meyer (East Greenbush, N.Y.) also led the squad with three runs scored.
Saint Peter's catcher Mike McGuire went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs, while second baseman Dennis Alexander also had a pair of hits and two runs scored.
Marist junior reliever Erik Supplee (Williamsburg, Va.) picked up his third win (3-1), tossing three scoreless innings and allowing just two hits with two strikeouts. The Peacocks' Jon Quinones came on in relief of starter Ben Gallo and suffered his first loss (1-1) of the season. He yielded four runs on three hits and two walks in just one inning of action. Marist sophomore starter Tom Close (Devon, Pa.) threw the first four innings and allowed three earned runs on seven hits to go with five strikeouts.
The Red Foxes will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Central Connecticut State for a 3 p.m. start.
