Game 2 Box Score

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-Junior third baseman Pat Feeney (New City, N.Y.) went 4-for-4 in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, leading the Marist baseball squad to a 6-5 victory over Siena. The Saints' Ken Grant powered Siena to a 6-0 victory in the first game with a complete game shutout. Marist finished the afternoon at 20-25 overall and 12-7 in the MAAC, while Siena wound up 21-26-1 overall with a 10-10 mark in league play.

Aside from Feeney's hitting prowess in the second game, senior shortstop Andy Kiriakedes went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, while freshman second baseman Kyle Meyer (East Greenbush, N.Y.) knocked in two with his second double of the season to the gap in left center in the third inning.

Among those four Feeney hits was his second home run of the season, a solo shot to right field, also in the third inning.

Siena was led by a 3-for-4 effort from left fielder Gabe Perez, while third baseman Jake Willis drove in a pair of runs, including his 10th homer of the season in the seventh inning off Marist junior closer Robert Ryan (Roslindale, Mass.). First baseman Rick Seltzer also had two hits.

Marist redshirt senior starter George Heath (5-3) picked up the win, tossing four and a third innings with three earned runs on seven hits and one walk to go with two strikeouts. Siena starter James Pacifico (3-5) suffered the loss, giving up four earned runs on 10 hits with one strikeout in just two and two-thirds innings of work.

Ryan nailed down his league-leading 10th save of the season allowing two hits and one run over the game's final two and two-thirds innings.

Grant (3-5) dominated the first game for Siena, allowing six hits and five walks, but striking out five as well. Saints' catcher Eric Hildenbrand had the big hit in the contest with a three-run homer to left in the ninth off Marist junior reliever Erik Supplee (Williamsburg, Va.) to blow the game open. Center fielder Matt Gidaly also registered a pair of hits.

Marist senior first baseman Kevin Grauer (Plain City, Ohio) went 2-for-4 to lead the Marist offensive attack.

Red Foxes' starter Jonathan Smith (3-6, Woonsocket, R.I.) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits to go with four strikeouts and one walk in eight and one-third innings.

The two teams square off Sunday in the final game of the series, which is slated for noon. The Red Foxes are expected to send freshman lefthander Josh Rickards (Glenolden, Pa.) to the mound with a 2-0 mark and a 4.01 ERA to face another freshman lefty, Matt Moberg, who sports a 4-3 mark with a 4.13 ERA for Siena.

Marist will honor its five (Grauer, Heath, Kiriakedes, Smith and catcher Bryan Towler) seniors in a ceremony shortly before the game's first pitch.
