WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Marist women's volleyball team fell to Army 3-0 on Tuesday night in West Point. Scores of the match were 30-18, 30-25 and 30-16 in favor of the Black Knights. Two freshmen led the way for the Foxes, as Alexandra Schultze (Austin, Texas) recorded 12 kills and 11 digs, while Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J.) posted 18 assists in the loss.
Schultze was one of three Red Foxes to post double digits in digs, as senior Kim McEathron (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) and Stefanie Miksch (Austin, Texas) posted 15 and 10, respectively. Schultze and Jan also post one service ace apiece.
The Black Knights hit .213 for the match and were led by Elizabeth Lazzari with 14 kills and 13 digs in the win. Lauren Teal recorded 21 assists and 10 digs for Army, who improved to 3-0 with the win.
Marist falls to 0-4 with the loss and will be off until Friday when it will host Colgate on the first day of the Marist Red Fox Classic. Marist will also square off with Wagner and Central Connecticut in the two day event. The first match of the day will feature Wagner and Central Connecticut at 4:30, followed by the Red Foxes and Colgate at 7 p.m.
