Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - The Marist College women's volleyball team had its three-match winning streak snapped on Sunday by Canisius, as the Golden Griffins earned a 3-0 victory (30-19, 30-18, 30-21) at the McCann Center in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest.
Freshman setter Dawn Jan (Belleville, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) paced Marist with 24 assists to go along with a team-high six digs. Senior outside hitter Jaime Kenworthy (Aston, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) led the Red Foxes with 11 kills.
For Canisius, Leigh Launhardt totaled a team-leading 18 kills to go along with six blocks and four digs. Mary Boller added 15 kills. Brittany Gerde finished with 42 assists and 10 digs, and Jess Stackhouse tallied 22 digs.
Both teams now stand at 1-1 in the MAAC. Canisius improved to 7-6 overall, while Marist fell to 3-8. The Red Foxes return to action on Wednesday at Iona.
